PERSONALITY INTEGRATOR

Personality is the synthetic unity of all personal traits. All the mental traits: intelligence, emotions, and sentiments, impulses, volitions, native, and acquired reactions, must be organized, and integrated into a unity.

The uniting of all mental traits into personality is called integration. In every person there is the primary or dominant self, which is his innermost characteristic self. Integration of personality is integration of intellect, and integration of character, all the conflicting reaction tendencies should be harmonized, and organized gradually, and integrated with the dominant trends.

An ideal personality should be well-integrated, and flexible. A disintegrated, and inflexible personality cannot adapt itself to the changing environment. According to Joy Paul Guilford, an American psychologist, best remembered for his psychometric study of human intelligence, including the distinction between convergent, and divergent production, Integrated Personality emerges from the synthesis of seven traits – psychology, needs, interests, attitude, temperament, aptitude, and morphology. In individuals with an integrated personality, their ambitions, and aspirations are in accordance with their mental capacities, and their objectives are realistically attuned to the required physical energy.
